日本百名山・御嶽山のふもと、標高1,100mの開田高原。コテージの周りは白樺、山桜、小梨の木にかこまれ、朝は野鳥のさえずりで目が覚めます。
Cottage AMAGOYA sits at 1,100 m on the Kaida plateau, below Mt. Ontake — one of Japan's hundred famous mountains. Birch, mountain cherry and crabapple surround the cottages; you wake to birdsong.
敷地の中には湧き水の小川が流れ、山わさびが群生しています。初夏から秋にかけては、珍しい蝶やトンボ、ホタルも水辺に現れます。夏でも涼しく、そして冬は最低気温日本一にもなる——そんな高原です。
A spring-fed stream runs through the grounds, thick with wild wasabi. From early summer into autumn, rare butterflies, dragonflies and fireflies gather at the water. Cool even in midsummer — and in winter, among the coldest places in Japan.
自慢のコテージは、木曽五木の「さわら」「ひのき」をふんだんに使った匠のこだわり。無垢の梁や柱がお客様を迎えます。A棟のリビングには、木目が美しく水に強いさわら材を。そして敷地にもともと生えていた赤松を、丸太のまま梁として渡しています。
The cottages are built with sawara and hinoki — two of the five sacred woods of Kiso — and solid beams and posts greet you at the door. In the A cottages, the living room is finished in sawara; the red pines that already grew on this land were laid in whole as the beams.
定員2〜5名。無垢のウッドとベージュ系で整えた棟と、茶系で整えた棟。2014年に新築した2棟に、新棟を加えた3棟です。
For 2–5 guests. One is finished in solid wood and beige, another in brown tones; two were newly built in 2014, joined since by a third.
定員5〜7名、グループ向け。新棟は窓がいちばん大きく、すべて吹き抜け。リビングにも寝室にも太い丸太の梁が渡り、無垢の木の香りが心地よい棟です。
For 5–7 guests. The newest has the largest windows and a full open ceiling, with thick log beams over both living room and bedroom — and the scent of fresh solid timber.
ペンションや民宿とは違い、基本的に一組のお客様にコテージ一棟。共用スペースはなく、室内で他のお客様と顔を合わせることはありません。受付もスタッフがお車まで、お帰りも玄関までうかがいます。
Unlike a pension or minshuku, a cottage is yours alone. There are no shared spaces and you never meet other guests indoors — our staff come out to your car to check you in, and to your door when you leave.
キッチン、バス、トイレはもちろん、冷蔵庫・炊飯器・電子レンジ・調理器具・食器まで一式。バーベキューグリルやカセットコンロ、土鍋は無料でお貸しします。あとは食材だけ、持ってきてください。
Kitchen, bath and toilet, plus fridge, rice cooker, microwave, cookware and tableware — all of it is here. Barbecue grills, gas burners and clay pots we lend free. Bring the ingredients; that's all.
